FOURTH
SPANISH COMENIUS REPORT
February 2014
After the visit to Portugal, our students prepared the
diary of their week in Torres Novas and explained it to the rest of the
classmates. They talked about the
culinary traditions. The rest of our
students could see the powerpoints posted on the blog, so they could enlarge
their knowledge about the culture of our partners. They also explained the activities carried on
there and the places they visited. All
of their explanations helped the others enlarge their geographical and history
knowledge.
We began to prepare the final meeting in Poland. They continued working on the recipe book to
be sent to the Poland team, so they could design it and send the final version
to the Italian team, who was in charge of printing it. So all the partners could get a copy in Poland.
March
We held a meeting with the families to prepare the
trip to Poland. We gave the families the
programme planned for the week, the name and address of the Polish families and
the school.
In the “Jornadas de portes obertes”(“Open Day”) we
presented the Project to the families of the new students of the school. They could see the materials prepared by our
students and their partners, the activities carried out in the meetings and
photos taken there.
The teachers prepared 3 evaluation sheets, one for the
students, one for the parents and the third for the teachers who had taken part
in it. We sent our proposals to the Coordinator and she created the final
versions to be revised in Poland.
We prepared our trip to Poland. The students looked for information about
Lubineck, the place where the Polish school is.
They saw the information about the school in the blog, read the
presentations made by the Polish team in the different meetings. So they could be more familiar with the
country they were going to visit.
The last meeting was held in Poland where we met our
partners for the last time. There we did
different activities mentioned and posted on the blog.
We agreed to carry out the evaluation questionnaire
and send the results in a circle graph to our coordinator. It could help us think about the positive and
negative things carried out in order to improve the activities in our future
project, Erasmus plus.
April
When our student came back, she prepared the diary of
their week there, explained it to the class and presented the recipe book. The students had a look at it, so they could
discover more things about the culinary tradition of their teams. We also talked about the most impacting
places we visited, specially the Concentration Camp in Auschwitz. So they could enlarge their geographical and
historical knowledge about that period of time.
It was a good topic to make them think about religious, racial or ideological
kinds of discrimination.
On Saint George’s Day, the students of the second year
of Baccalaureate who had participated in the Comenius project during these two
years got a diploma made by the school and we disseminated the project in that
festivity.
In the school
magazine we published different articles talking about our Comenius Project,
written by the students and teachers who had taken part in it.
May
We worked on the evaluation sheets and created the
graphs. The teachers studied them in
order to see the things that should be
improved in the future and to know the parents’ opinion, because the students’
opinion had been picked up after each meeting.
In the farewell party of the students of the Second
Year of Baccalaureate there was a movie about the best moments spent in the
school and the Comenius experience couldn’t be missed there.
We celebrated “la fira del Coneixement”(“The knowledge
fair” as every year. It consisted on
preparing different activities for the Primary students who came and visited us
on the 21st of May. There
were different workshops organised by the teachers of the different
subjects. The students of the second
year of ESO were in charge of them. This
year the English Department organised a “Green restaurant”, based on the topic
of our project “Healthy food”. The
students of our school were the waiters and waitresses of a healthy restaurant
and the primary students were the customers, but there was only healthy food in
the menu, so they could only choose healthy dishes. We tried to make them aware of the importance
of healthy habits and the fact that there are a lot of delicious dishes that
are very healthy.
The students are preparing articles about the Comenius
for the school magazine.
On the final day we will prepare a lot of physical
activities and we are going to focus them on the project aim: ”Be active” with
the objective to make students practise more sport, enjoy them and make them
aware of the importance of not spending so much time in front of the TV or
computers.
