Report of Romanian activity (may -october 2013)

Report about activities of the Romanian team
May- October 2013

After visit in Turkey in April, in May, the Romanian Comenius team had to continue the local activities of the project.
Our students and teachers have prepared materials of dissemination our Turkish experience for the school and for the local community. They have presented in front of their colleagues and teachers with Power Point presentations and a short article for local media and for a Yahoo group about projects.
In the same time we had to restart the work for materials of Virtual guide.
The students of the target group, supervised by the teachers involved in the project, realized a study about the milk and the dairy products.
It was a long study (because the students were really involved in this duty). They have worked in teams but with individual tasks. It was a good opportunity to improve this kind of work. The long form of this study was posted on the blog at label Romanian local activities.
 The short form of this material was sent to the Portuguese team for to post in the Virtual guide.
In June we have continued the work at the materials for the Virtual guide. The students have prepared a short history of the food pyramid.
Also, they realized different types of posters (realized on Paint, or Power Point or painted by themselves on water colours or oils) about their own food pyramid. It was a competition with these posters and the winner was an oil poster of a student from eleventh degree. It was sent to the Portuguese team for the virtual guide.
For two days, on June 22 and June 23, it was organised a study visit that was planned in the project..
The work consisted in movement of the group of students, members of the project team, along on a route  which they had to identify both specific elements of traditional cuisine and cultural elements, too. They also had to participate in the preparation of the traditional dishes, to understand the influence of nature in people's life.
 Also, in June the Comenius team has prepared and sent to the National Agency a report for the first year of the project and has finished the selection of the students for the visit in Spain.
 In July and August we continued the work for the Virtual Guide. The students had to study the integration on the food pyramid of the traditional food.
It was a little difficult for them, because as in many others cuisines, the Romanian cuisine presents al lot of dishes and there are a lot of history in the Romanian cuisine. They had to find about the traditional dishes and sometimes it was a good opportunity to compare this kind of food with our days’ food, especially with their own food. They realized that their grandparents’ food was more healthy than their own food.
In September the students that were selected for visit in Spain worked for their own presentation and other historical and geographical information about this country and about region of Catalonia. The whole team finished the materials for the Spanish visit.
            During 28 September till 4 October a team formed by four teachers and two students have taken part to visit in Barcelona, Spain.
It was another great week in company of the whole Comenius team and an opportunity for meet the Spanish culture and civilisation. For students and teachers, it has mean in the same time another intercultural experience.
  In October the team has realised and presented materials for colleagues and media, has organised a seminar of dissemination after the first year of the project and has started the work for tasks proposed during the meeting in Spain.
