Brief report of the activities carried out project Comenius from September 2012 to November 2013

September 2012
In September, we just began the implementation of project activities. Everything was new for us, because it was the first partnership project under the Comenius program at our school. The first project activity was to write an article in the local press informing about our project in the local community. Another project activity was to design wall newsletter which was made by our students. The next activity was selecting some students who just formed the target group to implement the project activities.
October 2012
In October, the next project activity was to organize the meeting for some students of our school - the target group’s students with specialists from Psychological and Pedagogical Center. The purpose of the meeting was to increase students' awareness of healthy eating and changing eating habits. Our students were interested in the subject of this meeting and filled out some surveys prepared by our guests and watched special film promoting healthy food. The next planned project activity was preparing the presentation of our school and our town for the first project visit in Romania in Targu-Jiu which was held between 28th October and 3rd November 2012.
November 2012
In November, the next project activity was to write the report of the first visit in Romania in Targu-Jiu to our project folder and the article in the local press. The next project activity was organizing the meeting for students of our school - the target group with a diet specialist. It was the continuation of the previous meeting in October. The purpose of the meeting was to increase students' awareness of unhealthy eating habits. Students watched the presentation prepared for them and agreed that it would be better to change some of eating habits and to live healthy life style.
December 2012
In December, another project activity was to organize Logo competition for the best logo of our project. It was one of the project activities planned during the first visit. Each partner school was supposed to send its logo proposal on our project blog which is our web project page . Our students were interested in this competition and they were happy and proceeded to accomplish this task. Students presented their work done in various techniques, and our jury chose the best proposal for the logo, which was posted on the blog. Our proposal took the third place in the competition. The next project activity was to prepare by students of our school Christmas performance and festive lunch according to traditional recipes for all staff of our school.
January 2013
In January, the next action project was to make some posters in various techniques with descriptions by students of our school to promote our project partner countries . All the posters of our partner countries were placed on the walls on all floors of our school which formed a kind of exhibition. This activity was educational in nature because students through the exhibition can obtain information about these countries. The next project activity was to organize a training course for students of our school for workshops to the local confectionery Polmarkus. During these workshops, our students could familiarize themselves with the process of production, and then be able to perform independently a variety of confectionery . The next project activity was to prepare and conduct a survey developed during the first project visit among fifty students of each partner school about eating habits. The results of the survey conducted at our school were placed in our presentation prepared for the second project visit.
February 2013
In February, the next project activity was to prepare our presentation for the second project visit in Italy in Castelfranco - Montebelluna which was held between 17th and 23rd February in 2013. The next project activity was to write the second visit’s report to our project folder and the article on our school website.
March 2013
In March, the next scheduled or planned project activity during the second visit was to prepare of Comenius student’s profiles by our target group’s students for the third project visit. The next local project activity was to prepare and conduct two surveys among fifty students from our school about healthy habits and their family and material situation. The results of these surveys were placed in our presentation prepared for the third project visit.
April 2013
In April, the first our local project activity was to organize a design contest – the contest for the best Easter cake. Our students who participated in this project event baked their pastries according to traditional recipes. Then all the works – their creations were presented on decorated table and tasted by our jury which chose the best one. The next local project activity was screening of the film "Supersize Me" for students of our school showing some dangers and risks of unhealthy eating. Then the next local project activity was to prepare of school presentation about done activities for the third project visit which was held between 14th and 20th April 2013 in Antalya in Turkey.
May 2013
In May, the next project activity was to write the report of the third visit in Turkey in Antalya to our project folder and two articles in the local press and on the website of our school. The next project activity was to cook by our students traditional Silesian dinner as part of extra-curricular classes which was presented on decorated table to take some photos and then consumed by them. The next project activity was to organize a skilled trip for our students for workshops called "sandwich vertigo" to the local confectionery Polmarkus . The aim of the workshop was to promote healthy eating habits among young people by their previously prepared healthy sandwiches.


June 2013
In June, another action project was to organize a competition for the best salad of the European partner countries participating in our project . Students willingly volunteered to participate in this competition , they were divided into teams of two and three participants and began to perform this task. The purpose of this culinary contest was to make various European salads according to the recipes previously prepared by the participants. All salads after a given time has been put on a specially decorated table and presented to tasting by the jury that chose the best salad assessed in terms of appearance and taste. After the competition the students and teachers of our school with gusto consummated all made salads. The next action project was filling out a form on-line progress report which had to be sent immediately to the end of June in 2013 by each partner school taking part in the project. Our progress report was sent on 26th June 2013 year.
July and August 2013
In July and August did not perform any action project, because it was the time of the summer holidays.
September 2013
In September, shortly after our holidays the first project activity planned during the third visit was to organize a design contest by each partner school for the best poster of the food pyramid . Some of our students were interested in this contest and eagerly began to participate . The best food pyramid proposal selected by the jury in each of the partner schools was sent to the partner school in Portugal in Torres Novas. The next action project also planned and worked out during the third visit to the project was preparing by each of the partner schools a brief historical outline of the food pyramid and a select group of products. Our school chose cereal products group which has developed nutritionally. All of these activities have been placed in our presentation prepared for the fourth project visit in Spain in Barcelona which was held between 29th September and 05th October in 2013 year.
October 2013
In October, the next project activity was to write the report of the fourth project visit in Spain in Barcelona to our project folder.
November 2013
In November, one of our local activities was to organize a competition for the best healthy breakfast as part of an international day of healthy food. Our students volunteers who participated in this event were divided into six teams consisting of two participants. The best breakfast was chosen by our jury in terms of appearance and taste and nutritional value. The next our local activity was to organize culinary workshops for students volunteers of our school during which they prepared traditional Christmas foods. All the creations were exposed on previously prepared decorated table and documented with photos.
December 2013
In December, our planned project activity during the fourth visit was to conduct a survey among sixty students of our school untitled “Be active”. The results of this survey are going to be placed on our presentation prepared for the fifth project visit .
