Mum's food or fast food ?

SPAIN MEETİNG REPORT

                                                                                   

We visited the Institud Europe school in Barcelona in Spain  between 29/9/2013 and 5/10/2013  at the framework of the Comenius project, teenagers between fast food and culinary food, which our school belongs to.

The teachers in the project were Sevtap ÇAM (school headmaster) Emin KUTLU (coordinator)  Necla EROL, Burcu ŞAHİN  and Fatma Ayçiçek.

 The students in the project were Sena ARITÜRK, Aylin YILMAZ, Gizem EKSARI, Ali GÖKÇE, Yasin SARI and  Rahim Doğukan ARSLAN.      

We starded our journey in Antalya at 8:15 on Sunday, 29 september 2013. First we took the plane to İstanbul. Then we took another plane to Barcelano. We arrived in Barcelona at 13:05. The host families met us at the airport, they wecomed the students and took them to their home. We went to our hotel. In the afternoon, Pilar BALLOC, Spain coordinator took us to the important places in the city. 

 

Next day we  started our project with the students from other countries in the project Italy, Romania, Poland, Portugual. The school administration organised a welcome ceremony. In the afternoon we toured the city altogether. we saw the works of famous architect Gaudi and wisited the park  which he designed.

 

              On 1 st October, we visited the vine factory in Sant Sadurni and chocolate factory. Later  we had traditional meals.

 

              On 2nd October, Wedesday, we continued our project. Our students presented their works. The host families offered their traditinal food. We visited the classrooms while they were having lesson. They showed us the school and informed us about what they were doing. In the afternoon we went to the city centre. We visited the market place.

 

On 3rd October we went to the town hall. They informed us about their works. We gave them our gifts from Turkey.Local tv channels were there . They took  pictures , recorded our visit and had interviews with our team members. Our teacher Burcu ŞAHİN, our students, Yasin SARI  and Sena ARITÜRK, gave interviews  to the tvs.   In the afternoon we visited the tourism high school  nearby. The students  served their own food.  In the evening we were offered traditional Spanish meals.
 

 

                 On 4th October, we went to school, we had a meeting. At this meeting we planned the Portugual visit, our next visit, and organised th works of our last visit to Poland  in April. It is our final visit. In the afternoon  we went to city tour, saw the unfinished church  of  the architect Gaudi. we also visited the skyscraper, TORRE AGBAR,  near the church. It was designed by a French architect

  Our students always attended our visits and Project. After 5 oclock  the host families dealt with our students. They showed special care. They took them to the evening visits, shewed their food, drinks, their culture to our students.

  On Saturday they came to the airport with us and they said goodbye warmly. They told us that they loved our students and that our students were polite. We also thanked for their hospitality.

  On 5th October we took our planet to Istanbul at 14:30. We arrived in Antalya at 01:30  in the morning. The parents met us at the airport. They took their children and  went home.

  During our visit, our students made good friends, talked to them and had good time. They learnt a different culture. They also recognised their own culture better. They saw the modern and historical buildings. They noticed the similarities and differences. They improved their confidence. They experienced a foreign culture. They practised their English and had good friends. Our teachers also experienced and learnt a lot.
